This is generally true with 2 caveats.

1. For the qualitative (non-math) questions, make sure you can explain the concepts from the reading guide in your own words and can do it quickly. You'll get points off or miss a question entirely if you just copy / paste stuff that he gave you.

2. For the quantitative (math) questions, make sure you can identify what kind of question you're dealing with and know what formulas are applicable. Then put those formulas in with your answer so he'll know at least what you were attempting to do in case you make a math error. Work his HW questions and "extra" questions multiple times to help with this.

Being prepared enough to be able to answer both types of questions quickly was the key for me. I earned an A on every exam but the time limit was an issue for me on the first one before I knew how his exams were.
