I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. The child should be made to feel that she has financial liability in this?

This. I drove a lot of atvs and vehicles at a young age but that's the scenario I was raised in. I started on 220 3 wheelers and 300cc 4 wheelers.

Your parents either didn't listen when you asked them not to let your daughter drive it alone or you didn't make that point clear to them. Thankfully your child is ok. I have a 7 year old myself and I can't imagine letting her on a razor alone, but, since she was 3 or 4 I have always let hey in my lap to drive my truck around the pasture or dirt roads.

Teach them young, and they'll be ready when they're 16.

Just be thankful she is ok, use this opportunity to teach, not discipline.

I have a daughter, but I would never let her drive until she's about 14 or 15. You know, the age they get their permit?

Letting her drive anything at 9 is ridiculous. But I'm not a redneck so I guess it's different.
