If and when this happens, I think getting fans involved in choosing a new name might be a good first step.

Changing the name to insult Washington DC is stupid and childish.

I would never call the Redskins a dynasty, but they are by no means NFL nobodies. I hate to see their historical accolades reduced to a footnote of a new team.

Personally I think this is one of the greatest Super Bowl rings, as well as most of the Redskins hardware is really classy by today's standards. I know that a name change doesn't erase this stuff, but it just doesn't feel right.
