We all agree that people have the right to use whatever kind of offensive language they like, but how weak a nation we are to expect federal protection of such language through trademarks and patents. If Dan Snyder wants to use a racist moniker for his football team, he'll have to do so with no patent/trademark assistance from the federal government. Sure, some of you big-government types will disagree with me, but I'm just a small-government guy who thinks that people should be responsible for their own social offenses without needing the government to help.

It is the federal government's constitutional duty to protect free speech.

Exactly It is his brand and a smart businessman should be able to decide what is best for maintaining it. Snyder has done more to hurt his brand with personal moves than the name has ever done

Too bad I'm not a lawyer. I'd love to file a thousand suits against trademarks that 'offend' me.
