I did not know until following a link in the letter in the OP that the younger Jindal works for Gibson Dunn.
Gibson Dunn is defending BP in several lawsuits arising from the Deepwater Horizon tragedy.
And they make the following boast on Law360
There is another thread on this but I wanted to thank the OP for shining this unintentional light on things.

Gibson Dunn Boasts Biggest Media & Entertainment Group
Law360, New York (February 10, 2012, 7:56 PM ET) -- With its bicoastal practice representing major companies in the gaming, social media, movie, television and music industries, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP jumped to the top of Law360's list of the largest media and entertainment practice groups in the world.
The 76-attorney group at Gibson Dunn, which accounts for just over 7 percent of the 1,050-lawyer firm, was followed by Covington & Burling LLP, which has 66 media and entertainment lawyers, and Latham & Watkins LLP, with a team of 63, according to the Law360 Media..
