HALO: THE MASTER CHIEF COLLECTION IGN STREAM RECAP
quote:

In today’s Halo news, IGN hosted a two hourlive stream with 343 Industries’ Dennis Ries and Certain Affinity’s Max Hoberman and Dave Mertz who talked us through every single aspect of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Halo Live Stream Recap

Starting off, we got our first glimpse of Halo: Combat Evolved running showing us Hang Em High played with no radar. Dennis Ries re-clarified that the medals currently seen in Halo: Combat Evolved will be entirely optional.

quote:

During the downtime, we got a quick glimpse of the custom game options for Halo 2 Anniversary as you can see in the image above and some of the customization option for nameplates.

quote:

Moving on, the stream started a Team Slayer game on Lockdown, the remastered version of Lockdown in Halo 2 Anniversary which gave us a glimpse of the kill cams in the final build which will be present as a custom game option.

quote:

After the Lockdown game ended, we got our first  official look at what Customization will be like in Halo: The Master Chief Collection – we now have solid confirmation that the player will be able to customize their Spartans and Elites for Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4 and select armour sets for Halo 2 Anniversary.

The stream then moved over to One Flag CTF on Rats Nest from Halo 3. This also gave us solid confirmation that all 100+ maps in Halo: The Master Chief Collection will feature map overviews during the loading screen.

quote:

Something else we saw with the Halo 3 gameplay is that service tags are no longer limited to one letter, followed by two numbers. You can now enter 3 characters maximum with a mix of numbers and letters.

quote:

The game ended abruptly to give us a glimpse of the master menu for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, as you can see above we got a view of the post-carnage report in the collection and below you can see a quick preview of the previously announced Medal Chest.

quote:

The team then started up a Gungoose Race match on Bloodline – the remastered version of Coagulation in Halo 2 Anniversary.

quote:

Up until today, we didn’t know if two players were able to ride the Gungoose at the same time. As soon as the Gungoose Race started, two players were put together onto one Gungoose.

After the Gungoose Race, the stream them jumped over to One Bomb on Ivory Tower from the classic version of Halo 2. During the gameplay, the team talked about the rotational playlists and said that these playlists would rotate very often to begin with, and stay for longer over time.

quote:

Once the Halo 2 game ended, the stream then moved over to Halo 4 with a game of Flood on Haven.

quote:

After the game ended, there was a interesting pop-up in the bottom right corner of the screen which seems to imply you unlock items by simply playing the game.

Shotgun CTF on Warlord was then started… yup – not much to say about that.

quote:

After a fans request, an Oddball Free-For-All on Lockout was started in Halo 2 Classic, giving us our first glimpse of Lockout running at 60FPS.

Shortly after the Oddball gameplay, the team gave us a new look at one of the remastered cinematics created by Blur Studios for Halo 2 Anniversary.

quote:

Following the remastered cutscene, the team then started up a Rockets on Beaver Creek match with radar disabled and then quickly moved onto a Halo 2 Classic Snipers match on Colossus with radar disabled.

quote:

The final game of the live stream we got to saw was a Swords Slayer game on Midship with radar disabled. After that, Ryan McCaffery gave us an outro and the stream ended.
