agree with downshift...you can get coon scent anywhere that has hunting dog training supplies (i.e. cabelas bass pro shops, etc.)...you won't need much, so just get a small bottle with an eye dropper in it to use. also, you will be training the dog to hunt coons, so be aware of any complications that could occur if there are real coons in the area...don't want your dog jumping fences and getting run over while tracking a coon that came around the night before...
for your purposes, really any scent that the dog could associate with "the game" would work fine...
