I have one and it is by far the best dog i have had. The guy lied to you about the weight. They will reach 50-55 lbs. max when fully grown. Smart dogs that are loyal to their owners. Very hyper so start teaching your godson how to throw a ball well so the pup will wear out.

If it is an amstaff (American Staffordshire Terrier), 50+ is probably right. If it is a staffie (Staffordshire Bull Terrier), 35 is probably right.
Staffies are awesome dogs; known as "nanny dogs" in England b/c of their affection for kids. But, since it was free, I doubt it is a pure staffie.
