To be fair, it automatically means he's not the 2nd best player on the team.
This argument is going to go nowhere, because you obviously will never understand the simple difference, but I will just make one more post to validate my original point.
At one point, Jason Kidd and Steve Nash were on the same team. Let's just say that one doesn't get traded and they continue on the same roster which stays put for a couple of seasons.
There were other good players on this team such as Antonio Mcdyess, Cliff Robinson, Rex Chapman, Cedric Ceballos and Dennis Scott. All good players, but none hall of famers like Kidd and Nash.
The best player rankings would probably go:
1. Kidd
2. Nash (could argue for one, but was the backup so let's put him at 2)
3. McDyess
4. Robinson
5. Chapman
6. Scott
7. Ceballos
Was Nash be the second most valuable on this team though as a backup pg though? This team was pretty weak down low compared to its backcourt depth, so one could easily make the argument that Mcdyess would be more valuable than Nash even though Nash is a hall of famer (and superior player.)
