I grew up with some awful LSU football and baseball teams. Rooted for the Cubs my whole life. Been a Saints fan since you could get a complimentary ticket with a $0.89 tank of gas. I know how to root for a bad team. And it's not through fricking delusion, like you're alluding to. No... You shake your head, open your beer, and ask your uninterested wife what the frick is wrong with them. And every now and then... Once in a blue moon... They suddenly figure it out. This year, they figured it out. You can use that as evidence that the delusional are sane... and point to my OP friend and call him a fair-weather fan... But be rational. He's the true fan. When the team was bad, he embraced it... fricking endured it. You were off escaping from it in your delusional nutjob utopia.
