Will try to make it to robinson Island. They do ferrys there? or best to just rent a boat/hitch a ride. ?

no ferries. you need a boat or something. People kayak and stuff, but you are going to be crossing a channel from any angle

We just went there on a friend's boat the times I've been. Not sure if they rent pontooners like they do in Destin
