A couple summers ago this thing was still open for concerts. Apparently, some dude bought it for like a qtr. mil (which was still probably a huge loss). Pulling up, it was like some post nuclear holocaust scene. Big rolls of astro-turf rolled up the parking lot and nobody around. I thought they'd blown the f#%ker up years ago.

was bought at auction w/ no limit at between $500K - $600K... since it was built for $55M... it was a HUGE loss

new owner was trying to get a MLS team to play there... but no dice (esp when his ambitious renovation plan didn't pan out)

but yeah... considering all the Barry Sanders highlights from the Silverdome... pretty creepy and sad to look at it in that state
