Could be a smokescreen or could be legit. Either way I think it's way more likely a defensive player gets picked because it's hard to see them taking anything other than WR in the 1st on offense, whereas about any defensive position(even safety if one of the top 2 fall) is up for grabs.
Also the fact that the draft is deep at WR, which makes pressing for one in the first(especially with the run on WRs being mocked now with no 1st rounders left at our pick) unnecessary.
It's easier to move up in the 2nd and take a 2nd round WR than doing so in the first, and the drop off isn't expected to be much.
Also I've been thinking about the trade up rumor with the Bears. It makes sense in the fact that it keeps Mosley out of the NFC North(if that's who we are grabbing), gives the Bears a ton of value with extra picks, and is likely the only way to ensure we get Mosley.

That's what I said
#27 –CB - Jason Verrett TCU
#59 – C - Weston Richburg – CSU
#91 – OT- Billy Turner – NDSU
#123 – WR - John Brown – Pittsburg State
#150- RB - De’Anthony Thomas - Oregon
#155 –QB – Aaron Murray - Ga
#187 – ILB - Max Bullough - Mich St.

That would be the smart move.

Why should the Saints be in a hurry to make the Bears stronger with extra picks?
As for as a trade up goes, I guess it all depends on how many players now on the roster will stick. You only have 53 spots (and the PS).
