Outside of Alaska, I think North Cascades is probably the most underrated.

I agree. Maybe the reason is that there is a fairly limited time to visit and be able to hike. But the scenery is amazing. Mt. Shuksun from Picture Lake is just a classic view. We were there in the second half of July and a lot of the trails were barely open. But the crowds were minimal and that surprised me for a place that close to Seattle.

I'll vote for Lassen as the #2 underrated. Possibly the same reason, they have a short season. But after the hordes at Tahoe and Yosemite, Lassen is heaven.

I just went showshoeing in that exact same spot a couple of weeks ago. (Shuksan is off to the left of this picture)
I grew up about an hour from the North Cascades so I might be biased, but it is extremely underrated and I like it that way. Most of the Seattle crowd goes towards Rainier, Hwy 2 and I-90. I also worked in Olympic NP for a summer and that one is pretty cool because it has everything from the beaches to the mountains.

My top 5 would be...

Zion
Glacier
North Cascades
Olympic
Yosemite

Banff and Jasper would jump to the top of this list if I included Canadian parks though.
