Theory about the FO and Graham.

I may be off, but I'm beginning to think that the FO and Graham's agent have agreed to years and guaranteed money before the start of FA, but agreed to hold off hammering out the structure of the deal until they were done with their signings.
The reason I think that may be the case is they've yet to file a grievance, and the deals we've seen the Saints do (outside of Humber's one year deal) have been long term deals.

I saw this thread, on Falconslife, where this poster had a friend that said Atlanta was thinking of signing him to an offer sheet (giving us 2 1st rounders).
Seemed legit. So, I'm going with that theory.

Breesus will be here to tell you he's acting like a bitch and we need to trade him.

That's a good one. It got to 13 pages before it was whacked.
They used the non-exclusive tag, which is cheaper, but also opens up the player to negotiate with other teams, but if they've already agreed on the basics of the contract, then that's not a real risk at all.

Agreed. Obviously they want to keep him around for the right price and it does seen pretty apparent he's probably one of the last moves they want to make this FA. Shore up everyone else, make sure we're not screwing ourselves, get everything set, and then here's your blockbuster deal.
That's why Loomis is one of the best. He didn't flip out and hurry to sign him. He's probably just telling him, "Jimmy, look, just chill bruh. You know me, I got this."

Agree....there's no motivation for them to sign him right away.

The Graham front has been very quiet which makes me believe your theory as well.
I guess teams are waiting to see if Graham's side files a grievance, but you haven't even heard talk about teams taking a look at him (except for that stupid Falcons thread), and the more teams that keep signing players, the more teams that once had the cap space start to disappear, shrinking his market

I think its possible Paddy.
I also think its possible that they never had any intention of filing.
That it was what little leverage they had to try to get the Saints to the table with a long term deal instead of the tag they knew was probably coming.
Agents and players alike want that guaranteed money sooner than later.

It's obvious that you haven't read one of my posts past the first sentence. Take Jimmys nuts out your mouth. His dick is blinding you.

The thing to remember about that is Graham would have to willingly negotiate with another team, and he would have to accept their offer. So if my theory is correct, then the non-exclusive tag is really a non-factor other than it provides you with more room in the meantime.

True, but it's because all of your posts end in some idiotic rambling like:

One of the biggest benefits is it allows the other 31 teams to tell Jimmy and his agent what he's worth instead of the Saints. Carries more weight than if it was coming from a perceived "biased party" with a self motivated agenda. Someone has probably already mentioned already but thought it was worth noting.

Then why did Graham seem disappointed he was tagged on twitter?
Posted on 3/17/14 at 9:53 am to Hoodoo Man
Um....less money in his pocket and no long term security?
Posted on 3/17/14 at 9:55 am to goatmilker
I meant, if the deal was done, why sound disappointed?

His agent probably told him to

I don't think he seemed disappointed. I think he was just trying to be funny with "tag I'm it."

Gotcha.
I still think my theory is the most fulgent!

Pretty much. He was dissapointed afterwards when news was breaking that some of his friends were getting cut, but he didn't seem upset about getting tagged.
