One of the cockiest things I ever saw was a guy in my office put in his two weeks with no job lined up. Boss man caught wind pulled him aside and asked what it will take to keep him happy. He is still here and happy as ever.
Sometimes it just needs to be done.
Personally, I don't have it in me... But I also love my job.

That's not that common, though. You shouldn't play those games without a backup plan or being certain that you'd get a raise. And if still have a backup plan bc your boss can say frick you just as easily as you can.
