What confused me a little was why Will called Hannibal and said "They know". Did Will want Hannibal to get away before Jack got their to keep him safe? It seems to me that even though they are arch nemesis, they really care for each other.

I think you're right. Will probably knew that what would happen to Jack if he went in there without backup. He assumed Hannibal would just take off into hiding without harming anyone. It was also sort of a nod back to S1E1 when Hannibal called Garret Jacob Hobbs and said the same thing.

I rewatched the finale this morning and I'm curious about something Will said to Hannibal right after he gutted him. Hannibal asked Will "Did you think you could change me?" Will responds with "I already have". Hannibal thinks for a moment then calls Abigail over to slit her throat.

Still don't understand what Will meant there.

I also found the dinner scene right after Hannibal smelled Freddy on Will to sort of be the nail in the coffin. He gave Will a chance to come clean about playing double agent and would've probably spared everyone had Will done so but obviously that didn't happen. It was almost like Hannibal didn't want to have to kill everyone. Almost

He did change Hannibal... in so many different ways. Hannibal fell in love with their relationship and for the first time, became vulnerable. He's opened up more than he ever has and no longer as precise and invincible that he once was.

You can even look at it from a different angle and Will has helped Hannibal evolve. Instead of hiding in the shadows, he's finally become the Chesapeake Ripper. The same way Hannibal wanted Will to evolve, Will did the same for him.
