I had the hardest time understanding that a fly that hits the yellow stripe at Turner field isn't necessarily a home run
wait -- they went to the time, effort, and money to build an entire park dedicated to baseball and only baseball, and they still have a yellow stripe?

If the ball hits the yellow line between the foul poles my understanding is that it isn't automatically a home run. Its just a hit if it bounces back in play.

Someone explain the stripe to me. Apparently I've missed something in all my years. Do all parks not have a stripe? Why would a baseball only stadium not have a stripe but a combo stadium have one?

Not sure if you are serious, and didn't read the thread. But Turner Field was not built originally for baseball.
