Wife & I just got back from our honeymoon in St. Lucia. We stayed at the Regency La Toc and visited the other two locations they have on the island.
The Good:
- All you can eat (portion sizes are small but you can order as much as you like)
- All you can drink (if you want premium, you have to request it; if you just say whiskey & coke they will give you well)
- Lots of excursions (Joe Knows Tour was highlight of our trip)
- Beaches are nice (at La Toc we had red flag warning all week but other Sandals on island were fine)
- Great staff, accommodating.
- Tons of poolside and night activities
- Plethora of different restaurants and bars
The Bad:
- A 1.5 hour drive from airport to any of the locations; the rolling hills and curves made me nauseous.
- Drivers like to speed around corners which brings you back to the above.
- Decide what excursions you're up for before you go and plan accordingly; there is only so much time I, personally, can sit on a beach or in the pool doing nothing but drinking.
- Also, with excursions, make sure you research them; we did horseback riding and instead of country side it was going through some dilapidated town to the beach below, staying there for 30 minutes, then going back up.
- Reserve your "required reservation" dinners ASAP to get ideal time; the two we did had us eating at 9PM.
All in all, we had a great trip. I think the time we were there (Monday to Monday) was plenty to do all we needed and could have probably cut it short a day and still been happy but we met great people from all around the world and drank/ate to our heart's delight.
