my daughter did the shots for about 2 years. she had always been around the 10 percentile on the growth chart then dropped off. They were estimating her to finish up around 4'8". With the shots she made it to just above 5'.
It is gonna be a battle with your insurance but if it is covered then there isn't a downside.
