Actually if he's spending $400 per month, using the average price of coffee in the US as a basis, that translates into 10 cups of coffee daily that the average coffee drinker would have to purchase to spend the same on coffee as he does on pot. As to who consumes the pot or coffee, that's a moot point since we're only discussing the cost of the product and not it's consumption.
this whole coffee argument is retarded, the prices for marijuana in this thread have been for high end marijuana, low end marijuana can be less than $50 per ounce. The coffee prices thrown around have been an average, so the 50 cent cup of coffee from a gas station is averaged in with the $6 cup of double espresso vanilla skinny latte with whipped cream.

For the love of all that is good, it's not a fricking argument. That came from a joking discussion I was having with a guy who said something about "people spending that much on coffee" or something along those lines. That gave me a idea to do a compare and contrast on pot vs. coffee. I goggled it and found the average price of a cup of coffee in the US sits at $1.38. You do know what "average" means, right? That means that's the price in the middle. Being in the middle means there will be coffee prices much lower (gas stations) and much higher (Starbucks). The norm when comparing two things is to look at the "average". Had I an agenda here I would have taken the low end of the coffee scale (.50 cent at the gas station) and compared it only to the highest pot number ($400 per ounce on Colorado) to try and "prove" whatever anti-pot point you think I was trying to make. But that is not what I did.

And for the record... The only retarded argument to be had here is you getting too damn paranoid and defensive over your pot. Here's a hint for all the pot smokers out there... Stop being so fricking defensive when someone who does not smoke pot wants to have a discussion on the subject. You come off as being paranoid and it's quite off putting and only serves to hurt your "cause".
