My sadness over Mett's injury had more to do with this than missing him for one more game. Mett will now miss out on many of the pre-draft activities, and I really hope it doesn't hurt his draft stock.

yeah, those were my exact feelings as well. was really sad seeing how far he'd come from last year only to get hurt late in the season, which could result in him not being able to show scouts what he can do

That ship has sailed. We can only hope it won't hurt too much. It shouldn't, if the repair and rehab go as expected. He wasn't terribly mobile pre-injury. There is plenty of game film on him. He's very tall, big and strong. As long as he can take 3 and 5 step drops and throw the ball before the draft (which is a little later than usual next year, fortunately), in private workouts, if nothing else, he should be fine.
ETA: From early 2nd to mid-3rd round isn't bad money for a QB.
The big downside, is that he doesn't have the opportunity to increase his stock in the offseason and this is a QB-heavy draft. Aaron Murray has the same thing to deal with - he's probably going in the 4th round, or thereabouts.
