I don't get the whole 30-06 recoil fear. Gotta get my old 06 out and see if I'm missing something. I guy I work with sold a pre 64 model 70 in 06 for 400 bucks cause he said it kicked too hard. FTR he replaced it with a 300 winny!

Holy shite, that's a helluva bargain if it was in good shape. MY pre-64 '06 kicks a lot less than most, of course with the scope, it clocks in at a healthy weight.

It's not a bad recoil, it's just more than most calibers someone would shoot when they are 13.
