Tent. I have buddy with a house boat down there but its filled up this trip. I will bring my generator and a portable heater. Will that actually help any in a tent?

A big enough heater will help, but the correct sleeping bag and base layers are more important.

Definitely. Tents hold heat in pretty well. You will still need some ventilation to keep condensation on the walls to a minimum. The ventilation helps if you fart inside the tent too.
