Because LSU's Saturday night preference is one that is impossible to be satisfied given the SEC's current tv contracts

How is it impossible to be satisfied? The SEC has guaranteed Saturday night slots on ESPN and its sister networks every Saturday aside from the one prime time telecast that CBS does. Therefore it is completely possible for at least a certain amount of requests (for any team, not just LSU) to be satisfied given the TV contracts. As to your second point about the night games, TV, not LSU, (except for one instance) dictated when those games were played. I'm not asking that LSU get every one of its games at night...that is not reasonable. What I am saying is that A&M had a request to move a (at least for now) marquee game pretty much out of the realm of possibility for CBS to televise and CBS I can fairly well predict, had to agree to it. Why can LSU not request to move ONE of its marquee games to the start time of their choice (within contract parameters)? Even if it is only every couple of years. They could request to move it to one of the 11 am games for all i care...as i pointed out in the original post, this is not really a day game night game argument. Hell maybe it's an LSU thing...maybe CBS would or might have agreed about 2015 and LSU didn't or hasn't made the request. If that is the case, then no worries.

My point is, this is a request that A&M made for special scheduling for a major game and the conference/networks agreed to it. It doesn't seem to be the norm. I am curious as to whether other schools will be allowed the same privilege. You mentioned that LSU could get this done too. You really think if LSU wanted to move the Bama game within contract parameters but in a window where CBS could not televise it, that it would be agreed to? Like i said, i'm not a everybody hates LSU/everybody else gets preferential treatment guy. I just find this move curious.

Then alert LSU's and the SEC's attorneys of this information because you definitely know what you're talking about.

South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State have all played on Thanksgiving. I suspect that LSU would be able to do so if they wanted.
