Current production revolvers from S&W are a shadow of what they used to be. Quality is not there in the finish, etc. plus they have a lock.

Rugers have a lock, too, don't they?

But I tend to agree - Mrs. Midnight has a Performance Center snub nose, all steel, 8-shot (CQB is what they called it) 627, in .357 magnum and the revolver is nearly flawless. Unfluted cylinder, ball detent lock up, as crisp a single action trigger as I have ever experienced in a revolver, with a smooth double action pull as well (better than a stock Colt Python, although to be fair, PC isn't necessarily stock). And no lock (made prior to S&W's deal with the devil.)

In any event, I easily see this revolver being passed down to great-grandchildren and beyond. A usable work of art, but nothing in the display cases at Academy (or wherever) come close to this revolver in fit and finish.

I like every revolver that Ruger makes.
