Where did you catch your Lapras?
Also, does the number of Pokemon in your lineup affect the distribution of shared XP?
Example:
1 Battle = 100XP / 2Pokemon = 50XP EA
1 Battle = 100XP / 4Pokemon = 25XP EA
Does the percentage of XP to be shared always stay static and not dependent on the number of Pokemon in a lineup?
or
Does the percentage of XP to be shared is dynamic and based on the number of Pokemon in a lineup?

Always. Always. Always have EXP Share on. No reason not to with the way it works.
The battling pokemon receives 100% of the experience and does not lose any of it because of EXP share. Each pokemon in your party will receive 50% of the experience. If you have a party of 6, this means you get 100% + 50%(x5) for 350% experience gain.
No reason not to take advantage of that. Turn EXP share on the moment you get it and never touch it again.
