"Leverage" - it was a penalty to land on a teammate while leaping to block a kick. The only time it was ever called against LSU in 2004. It was only a penalty for a year.

With all the BS player protection violence reduction in college FB, it surprising they changed the rule. I can tell ya from experience that having a player behind the play come running full speed and put his helmet or shoulder pad in your back when you are stood up in a pile hurts like hell and can do some real damage.

Not sure where you get your information, but Leaping (9-2-11) is still a foul. It used to be restricted to landing on an opponent, but was changed several years ago to include ANY player.
