I was raised with black mouths, best looking in my opinion. I think they might be a little bit more calibrated with power and smarts to matchup with livestock. We used em for squirrels, coons, hogs and cattle.. Great dogs!!
The Mt. Curs are a little bit faster on the ground, faster on the tree, a bit smaller in most cases and can normally hunt all day and night..
Now, it would be hard for me to choose if I had the chance.. Both great dogs..

My brothers dog and the line he was out of where all 50lb+ dogs. He was great on the range, just out of sight and if no squirrel come back by to check in. He wasn't worth a damn on coon though he would tree squirrels at night. I don't think we ever got him to tree a coon at night.
