As good as LSU is, much of LSU's success was a result of the disaster of a secondary that Georgia has.
Man, maybe you missed it, but Mettenberger played a fantastic and gutsy performance under some outrageously difficult mental circumstances.
He was also pressured pretty steadily and kept delivering passes into small windows in big 3rd down situations.
Yeah we had some receivers running open at times, but that, like UGA did to us, had a lot to do with our scheme on those plays working to perfection.
But if you don't think that UGA D can play and tested us repeatedly I don't know what to tell you.
People always talk about LSU being a great looking team off the bus, well UGA has that look this year.
Their OL and DL are monsters, and they don't just look the part. Those guys can play, and they showed up ready to work on Saturday.
Murray is going to rewrite the SEC passing record book, and Gurley and Marshall are NFL players stuck on Saturdays.
Sometimes games get away from you, and sometimes a storyline can become the axis the game revolves around.
This game was about Mettenberger and Murray and that's exactly how it played out. It was a great game to watch and outside of a couple of plays I'm proud of the way our team responded on such a stage.
Again, this is not to say there are no issues on defense. I was outspoken about our problems last week when many others were still convinced the D was five. But I have no doubt that the rest of the teams on our schedule are not looking forward to playing us on either side of the ball (The Texas A&M Manzies not included ).
Can't wait to see how this all plays out because I really think this team has a 2007 feel to it. :fearthehat:

If a few LBs & DBs can turn it up as the season progresses you're right.
Good summary enjoyed the read.
