Everyone loves a whipping boy. If he's behaved improperly, the lashes dished out can be comedy gold.
But just because he's a whipping boy, it doesn't grant carte blanche ridicule. It has to be deserving, or else it comes across as mean-spirited, & more importantly, unfunny.
Funny: Anthony Weiner just announced that he's running for mayor and we already have definitive proof that he's rising in the poles.
Not funny: Hey, Weiner, you got an ugly, crooked nose.

Look, I'm not an a-hole, so if I actually offended the kid, I apologize, but I don't need humor lessons from some blowhard who thinks he's entitled to tell me what is and isn't funny because he's reached some sort of demi-god status on an internet forum. So, I appreciate you backing up the guy, but I take offense to you standing on your soap box and talking to me like one of the unwashed masses.
