I definitely think that this defensive scheme fits our players better than Spagnuolo's did, but we can't know either way right now. I like the things that were done, but I don't believe we have the depth or the talent right now to be a top 20 defense. There is reason for optimism. I think that we have some really good young talent in Vaccaro and Jordan. I also think Hicks and John Jenkins have good upside and will at least be legitimate starters in this league with a chance to become really good players. I think Lewis will be fine once he gets used to the system and gets some playing time under his belt with this team. The good news is that once Wilson and Gallette gets back we'll be better, and once this team gets a few games under its belt we could be respectable. There are so many good teams in the league that I don't think it's likely that we will win it all, but we certainly have a shot.
We just need to keep drafting well and upgrade the linebacker position in the offseason if Gallette or Wilson do not pan out.
