If you're shooting 100+ then you may want to dial back down the type of course you want to play.
Torrey Pines is a championship course, it'll run ya 220+ being a non-resident.
Maybe check out Meadowlark in Huntington Beach, it's inexpensive and not far from the beach. Long Beach has a muni course that's not too bad either.
ETA: golfhub is a good site to use to compare out of town courses, you can usually get a deal on tee times booking with them too.

Yeah I wasn't thinking of going to a PGA tour event course. El dorado and the "big Rec" course look decent. I check out that one in Huntington Beach. I was hoping to play something on the ocean but I'm sure those are all going to be $100 plus and farther than I want to drive
