With the conference as big as it has gotten there shouldn't be any permanent opponents. They should have a rotating schedule.

Every team in each division should play the same schedule regarding conference play. Sure, it evens out eventually no matter how inequitable it is year to year, but that isn't the way to determine a yearly champion.
Anything less that rotates, that is permanent or whatever is just window dressing.
