Larson may be a bad example because he could put them out a good ways and would still have some homers in today's game. But it certainly made a difference for a lot of the other players. Many of those that would be having warning track power today would have been replaced with guys with more speed and better fielders. Again Larson isn't a good example because he made it to the majors.
