Its a bullshite play, but on Saturday at my 10 year olds championship game the other team did it and totally nailed one of our kids on second.
Key word being 10 year old game.....

I watched LSU try this exact play when Skip was there. The runner started for third, but tripped over his own feet and dove back into second.
The LSU centerfielder dropped a crushed styrofoam cup onto the grass just prior to the play.

My take away was getting an out at second. I have no trouble with it. They looked awful silly when it failed. The highlight of the night for us
