Wait, so the viewership of the S6 finale was 1 million less than the S6 premiere? Damn. That is a steep drop.

FWIW I could be wrong but I never saw TB going beyond 7 seasons. There's not much story left to tell and I'd prefer next season be the last rather than have it drag on for 3 more seasons (if it goes on another 2 or 3 seasons I'll give up watching it ). Most successful HBO shows generally don't go beyond 7 or 8 seasons in general.

-The Sopranos=6 seasons
-The Wire=5 seasons
-Sex and the City=6 seasons
-Entourage=8 seasons
-Curb your Enthusiasm has had 8 so far
-Big Love=5 seasons
-Oz=6 seasons

Game of Thrones will more than likely have 8 seasons since it's based on a book series and the showrunners have been much more loyal to the books than True Blood ever did.
