No. Nola doesn't have near the stuff Gray has. Nola may have out pitched him tonight, but look at the difference in lineups. Ours is a much better lineup than OU's.
Then you didn't really watch or you assume speed is better than control. The thing that made Nola great last night was that he kept the ball down in the zone and could throw across the plate whenever he wanted. Nola has a lot more control control than gray. Gray is great pitcher but he relies on his speed to much. He needs better command of his fastball and slider and if he has a change up needs to use it more often. Gray is an incredible pitcher but with the stuff he has right now, he will be playing as a closer in the pros. The lack of command won't fly in the pros.
Also if you wanted to compare Nola's performance, think of Greg Maddox. He was great bc he was one of the most accurate pitchers in the game not one of the fastest.

I agree. Nola has more command. They both have great control as they both have very low walk totals.

I felt he could've thrown his fastball more last night. He was getting our hitters frozen more on the sliders and offspeed than fastballs. He had great command of his slider. His fastball could've used more command, but his fastball has incredible movement for the speed it is.

You are literally the only person who thinks that. You act as if Gray is one of those fireballers with no command. THat is bullshite. Just look at his numbers and look at how he didn't walk very many of us. 30 out of 30 mlb teams would pick Gray over Nola. THat is indisputable.

Nola doesn't have the swing and miss stuff that Maddux had. Sure, Maddux pitched to contact, but when he needed a K, he got one. Nola doesn't have the swing and miss breaking pitches or movement that Maddux had. invalid comparison. A better comparison for Nola would be Ian Kennedy.
This is not to say that Nola won't be better than Gray at the next level (especially since Gray was picked by the Rox), but as of now Gray has the MUCH higher ceiling than Nola has. That is indisputable.
