quote:I approve
Bad Religion-no control
Social Distortion-white light white heat white trash
The Exploited-beat the bastards
The Vandals-any album
Dead Kennedys-Frankenchrist
The Circle Jerks-golden shower of hits
I may think of more later
Some of my favs:
Slapshot - 16 Valve Hate
Bad Brains - I Against I
Bad Religion - Suffer
Pennywise - Unknown Road
Black Flag - Damaged
Warzone - Lower East Side
Judge - New York Crew
Cold As Life - Born To Land Hard
Slapshot - Sudden Death Overtime
If you count Dropkick Murphys as punk then i'll throw Do or Die and Sing Loud, Sing Proud up there too.
To be clear, this isn't a "best of" list, these are just some of my personal favorites.

The Bad Brains self titled album, "Fun House" by The Stooges, and "Damaged" by Black Flag are the definitive punk albums, IMHO. Those three albums best represent the energy and attitude that punk was all about.
