And I liked happy endings but recently it just got to much for me. It's the same shitty character stuff. OMG ahh maaazzzz ing I can't find a boyfriend because I'm psycho
I'm dumb but hot
I'm crazy but hot and date a black guy
I'm like the whitest black guy ever but I'm funny and also go way over the top
I'm guy but its cool because I'm not super gay and fabulous so it's cool to be gay
They do play up the cliches, but you don't think AD did the same thing? Are you fricking blind?
I love AD, but the characters are annoying as shite. If I saw anyone of them on the street, I'd cross the street to punch them in the mouth.
Half of them are sociopathic. GOB is GOB. He's the incompetent guy who thinks too much of himself and constantly inflates his ego around others. Buster is a borderline mentally handicapped dolt who is stuck in phase 3 of childhood. The mother is psychotic. The sister is pretty much the same character as Hilary Banks minus the Valley Girl accent. And on and on and on. Just because they play their archetypes well doesn't mean they aren't archetypes.
I honestly think I'm not alone with that sentiment and wondered if Arrested Development, while admittedly one of the funniest and smartest shows I've seen, suffered because the characters were so developmentally arrested that they became aggravating.

wife and i love this show i will agree the first 2 seasons have been slightly better.
hate to see it go if that's what happens. fri night is tv's hospice for a sitcom.
rather see it go to a cable network. you could package an hour with cougar town and happy endings.

Netflix should pick it up and just do 24 eps each season.
