Stopping the round or not, it will not be pleasant to absorb that kinetic energy if hit center mass where the plate is designed to be worn. I'd just as soon it pass through and be done with it...much less multiple rounds....I guess we are discussing "prepping" and "zombie appocalypse" scenarios here. I can't imagine taking that hit, irregardless if the plate stops/deflects the round, still a LOT of energy displaced....Begging to have your aorta rip...Just hope the bad guys give you 15min to dawn your entry vest and shoot at you with a 22LR! Wearing even the most sophisticated vests, the armor plate is a biznitch to deal with...adds a lot of weight and in the seated position, drives you insane...at least it did to me.
