Would totally be out of character for this organization to go WR in the first given this fact alone.
Robert Meachem was six years ago.

And the Saints haven't had a WR anywhere near "once every five years" type of elite talent at any point in the Brees era...and yet QB9 goes for 4K-plus yard a year like clockwork with what he does have on hand (UDFAs like Lance, 7th rounder like Colston, etc.).

So since we haven't had elite talent in the past we shouldn't try to go after it now? We also have taken Meacham in rd 1
Do you not think that Brees would appreciate having a couple of blue bloods instead of having to make his guys better? Sure is easier to convert on 3rd and med-long when you have above average talent to account for who can actually get good separation on their own consistently and don't need to be thrown open. Can you imagine how much better Brees could make a Dez, Julio, or Green?

Damn, you should be the head of a scouting department.

I vote LT in the first round.

I'm a fan of Quinton Patton. If he's there in the 3rd I would like that pick. Best receiver in the draft. Not the most athletic, biggest, or fastest, but he's a very good player.

I might damage something if this happens. I think we should go defense, definitely of Jarvis Jones is available. But if we do go offense, Austin or Patterson are the only two Id be okay with.
1. Dion Jordan - probably gone
2. Jarvis jones - :fingerscrossed:
3. Mingo? - idk, he and Montgomery were underwhelming last year,
4. Austin
5. Patterson
6. The big NT named Star
7. Tharold simon/Dee milliner - if we don't get Nnamdi
8. Eric Reid
All these guys would have to be gone before I would even consider OL.

Do you have Simon and milliner as 1st round considerations?
One doesn't fit

Really worst-case scenario pick. It would mean no Nnamdi, and EVERYONE we really wanted gone. Hopefully it won't come to that, because I agree that they're not first round material.

Yes let's take a mid round at best guy over an elite oline prospect.

Well Milner is a top 10 near lock and Simon would cause any nfl gm to be immediately fired if they took him in first round.

So much for Nnamdi watch being wrapped up

I'm still hoping we land an OLB, preferably Jarvis Jones. One thing this team has done well is developing and filling in players on the offensive line. They could possibly look for LT later in the draft. If Nnamdi is signed, the cb scenario is set.
I personally think they still want one of the big 4 OLBs, but LT/DT/CB/ILB/S/even WR; none would surprise me.
