So much stupid in one post. Notre Dame was completely overrated and it showed. Gholsen and AJ are 2 different types of QBs. Why is it that all of a sudden every black QB with mobility = RS or Randall? AJ is more like Teddy Bridgewater (Pass first, run as a last resort) and we all saw what he did the Florida defense. He's accurate and makes smart decisions with the ball.
Yep.
He is a pocket passer with a very accurate arm and a VERY fast release. He isn't even THAT fast. He is quick and can shift around a folding pocket well though.
Seriously, I think his game is similar to Drew Brees'. Obviously not that good, BUT think about it:
-Short (relatively)
-Athletic
-Quick feet
-Very accurate
-Lightning release
-Not the strongest arm, but not weak either
-Moves well in and out of pocket when it changes
-Keeps eyes downfield at all times
Kid is going to be good. Hopefully he is 1/3 the QB Brees is

I think everyone needs to pump the breaks a bit.
He'll likely see some playing time, but I have no interest in seeing him start this year. Start the 4th quarter maybe.
Mett is still a growing QB, if we are going to be successful this season we need him to continue to evolve as a passer throughout the season. In order for him to do that he will need to play late in games, even against cupcakes. When we are up by 28pts in the third or early in the 4th it opens up an opportunity for you to run plays that are more about testing his abilities than trying to win. The risk is lower.
Also, why in the hell are we using Drew Brees, NFL veteran, Super Bowl Champion, record holding QB to a fricking true freshman.

I'd compare him more to a Russell Wilson college-type QB. He has the ability to run the option from time to time. But, he's a pro-style passer.
