I thought Ian Wright showed a lot of promise for his first time out.

I don't mind the Gus Johnson experiment, but he needs to lock himself in a room and watch soccer until the world cup starts. I don't think he has shown any improvement in terms of grasp and reading of the game. I also believe he is taking away from casual fans understanding and appreciation of the game. Given that casual fans are clearly the target of this experiment, I think it's fair to call it a failure. If they stick with him, I hope he genuinely makes the effort to improve his knowledge.
