If his goal is to find a team to compete with the Heat/Spurs AND get a max deal he will have to play the FA market and I'm not sure a situation exist to satisfy both those goals.
Besides wven with the new CBA isn't a "max contract" still 2 very radically different things when talking about the Clippers offering Paul a max deal and any other team offering him a max deal?
