I also added a Stainless Steel Skag guard for about a hundred bucks.
Glad i did as my guide buddy tried to take off and hit bottom 4 times in a row in BL until I took over.
I was just looking at him and shaking my head.

I fish shallow and just trim up. But I dont run 50 thru ponds If its your dream boat go for it but if you hold and resell in 10 years it wont have any value but may make it sell quicker

Wish I would have invested in the power poles, that's my next thing to get.

quote:Done. Thanks for the confirmation. I've done a lot of research and feel that I'm making a sound decision. Adding the trim tabs, bimini, and trolling motor.
Also price adding Trim Tabs.

So you getting the jack plate w/ trim tabs? I am on my third bay boat, first two didn't have either and the one I currently have now made sure it came with them. You might not think they are worth it for the money but once you have them and figure out how to adjust them for your boat to make it run the best you will be very pleased with the purchase. Same goes for having a power pole.

I got the Humminbird 997c SI but that was 2 years ago, they probably have better stuff out.

You would be fine getting a 6" jackplate on that boat. You would love the hydraulic being able to adjust on the run and stuff. Especially if you get trim tabs as well. I have a 10" JP and tabs on my boat and when in shallow water can raise jackplate all the way up, drop trim tabs down and hop up on plane in a foot of water. Much better than trolling or hoping tide comes in so you can escape. Like I said its one of those things you don't want to spend money on at first but once you have it will always be playing with tuning your boat. They are really a good attribute to a bay boat.
