Whether or not you think the law is stupid or not, the guy was still in violation of the law and should have been arrested. As a judge told me, ignorance isn't an excuse to violate the law.

Sounds like we very well might have the first test case of whether or not the 2nd amendment also pertains to high capacity magazines. This should be a fascinating legal argument.

The new law hadn't gone into affect when he was arrested.

If the mags he possessed were in fact pre ban mags then he was not breaking the law at all.
