We are not drafting a QB, especially in the first 3 rounds. It will all be defense drafted. The only position on the offensive that will be addressed is Tackle.
This team is in no position to waste a pick and let someone groom. Not to mention we are years away from addressing that issue.

While I agree, I think it is important to draft a guy to groom early. Yes, teams are seeing success starting guys they just drafted but I would feel more comfortable drafting a guy to sit under the greatest QB in our team history for 3-4 years and learn how to play the game.
Yes, Drew does say in his book that he is pretty much afraid of his spot being stolen by a backup.. Just tell him when we draft said player that we are doing it because he's getting old.
He should understand. We don't want to suck again when he leaves.
