By "positigers," I presume you mean the irrationally exuberant, wilfuly ignorant fools who are oblivious to any flaws in Miles or the staff, rather than posters who have a measured but optimistic view of the program? If so, that sect really shouldn't be referred to as "positigers," but rather as Idolators of Les Miles. They have predicated their entire interest in the LSU program on their love and deification of one man. They can't distinguish between LSU qua program and the individual who happens to coach them at any given moment. In that regard, they are absolutely no different than the "Sabanistas" they profess to disdain. Both are cults of personality revolving around a single individual. As to why the Idolators are so belligerent, it is because they are growing desperate. Saban has outdistanced Miles, Alabama is ascendant, LSU clearly isn't the premier program in the SEC West, LSU hasn't won an NC in half a decade, and Miles has suffered a number of setbacks this past year: 1/9, a subpar 2012 recruiting class, off the field shenanigans like Tyrann's dismissal, a home loss to Alabama which included some quizzical coaching decisions, continuing offensive stagnation, and - most recently - losing an eleven point fourth quarter lead to Clemson. Rather than objectively discussing the past year and its implications, the Idolators believe they can efface history by dint of sheer frenzy and posting volume. Hence the rabid frothing. This is what happens when you take extreme positions and then insist on clinging to them despite all evidence. In any event, thankfully such posters constitute a tiny fraction of the fanbase. Most people recognize Miles's true strengths and deficiencies. Similarly, most people recognize that irrespective of those deficiencies, Miles will be the head coach at LSU for the foreseeable future. All we can do is hope that Miles improves, rectifies his flaws, and leads us to an NC. There's nothing else to be done at this juncture.

Holy frick.

Very likely the best post I've ever read on this board. Mad props.
