for the past 2 years we have went at the end of September out to Wild Bill's outfitters near Yellville which is upper river. Water levels range anywhere from 1 ft to over 10+ ft in this section. To me this is the best time to go because the temp outside is in the high 70's during the day. As you can see in the second pic, it is low, but floatable. If you float from Dillard's Ferry (Hwy 14) to Rush, you want to make sure you don't miss Rush, because the next place to get out is like 20 miles away

We go about 6-7 times a year. Drive up to Waynesboro, TN, and camp at the Crazy Horse Canoe Rental site.
